SNAP 4500 primary file system wont mount
After a recent power failure my snap 4500 will not mount the primary file system. What I seeing on startup is that the appliance boot to the ramdisk. No matter what I try I cannot seem to get it to run a fsck to fix this issue. I any way can point me in the right direction or has any suggestions on how to fix this issue it would be greatly appreciated. I am running Guardian OS 4.1.043

Try using Putty and login as Admin, PW, then use the osshell (admin PW) to gain access to the root. From there your commands will work. Other wise you are not deep enough in the OS to execute those commands.
Normally the OS will run fsck on boot up. You just need to give enough time. Have you looked in the log files to see what is going on. Or have you used the null modem cable to monitor the shell. |
Re: SNAP 4500 primary file system wont mount
Greetings. Looks like the server is coming up in single user mode. Also, looks like the primary mount drive md is not mounting...instead the RAMDISK is mounting..this is why I belive the disk needs to be fsck-ed. I have also attached the capture from the null modem after a reset.
Thanks for your earlier response to my question. |

You can revolk the recovery console which will allow you to re-install the OS without over writing the data. I think you loose your access control database so that info can be restored from a backup or reentered.
If you select the clean install option it will over write everything. |
