Snap 520

Hi,

We have a snap server 520 using GuardianOS 4.4.045.
It is running RAID 0

We have some issues with netvault producing errrors when we try to back up the server. When i try to delete these problem directories off the server where the backup is giving errors through the windows share, it comes up with errors like can not delete directory mx , directory is not empty. There actually is no directory mx. Another file the netvault fails to backup does not actually exist if you go to the directory.
I can only assume there are is file corruption in the data.
Can someone tell me how to delete these files...i can easily reback them upto the snapserver from our other servers, but as i cannot delete them from the windows share and can not find a way through the gui interface or the SSH command line interface (both seem to have very limited commands) i can not move forward

Many thanks

Mike

You need to use putty to sh into the shell. You must login as admin, not user with admin rights. Then use the "osshell" cmd then login in as admin to get access to the root so you can delete the share.

There should be dir that has the shares and dir folders.

Re: Snap 520

I also have a Snap Server 520 with 3TB hdd and 2GB RAM, it has GuardianOS 4.4.049 SP3 installed, I don't know why it reports itself like Snap Server 550... any way, I try to ssh to it and it always freeze, no matter the client, ssh, putty, apple, linux, etc. I've read on the Internet and try debug mode and the last line I got is debug1: channel 0: free: client-session, nchannels 1 and then it freezes :(

any idea?

Re: Snap 520

There is a setting in the OS that needs to be set first.

Re: Snap 520

Do you refer to "Enable SSH" in "Server" -> "SSH"? that checkbox is marked.

Or do I need to modify the config file for ssh (/etc/ssh/sshd_config)?

Thanks.

Re: Snap 520

The SSH box needs to be checked. No need to edit a config file.
