SNAP 2200 in diagnostic mode... now what?
Greetings all,
I've managed to pick up a nonfunctional SNAP 2200 from a friend. When started up it boots into diagnostic mode (System & disk lights flash slowly together, on, then off; link solid, net flashing as with network traffic). From what I've gathered from his description, the drives in it have both been erased externally and reinstalled. In other words, there's no SnapOS on them. Is there any way to restore this to use? I don't care about data, but it'd be real nice to have this as a functional unit on my network. I've done some searching around the forums here and the wiki. I've seen references to ways to put the OS back on the discs, e.g. using Knoppix. I'd be comfortable doing this, but I don't have the SnapOS and haven't seen any links to it. Any suggestions as to what my next step should be? Is this just a doorstop? Thanks, Nite |
