Snap 2200 how to wipe data
Hi, i have snap 2200 which i want to wipe all data so it can't be recovered.
I do not want to take the drives out, one each time and DOD wipe them. Does anybody have a good idea how to do that? I was thinking about changing disk configuration from raid to single large drive than to single drives, everytime formating this drive. Changing disk configuration is taking long time so i can image that snap is overwriting disk with new data everytime. If i will do that several times data should be lost. is it good idea? Thanks |
Re: Snap 2200 how to wipe data
The only good option is to remove one and wipe it. Transfer the OS back over to it and confirm its works then remove the other and wipe it. The Snap OS use a modified file system and can not be read by another system except SnapOS and/or recovery service. There is NO un-delete in the OS. So just breaking and changing Raid may be enough or using the Format Function available under disk utilities. Only you can decide which way you want to go.
