I'm utterly ****ing speechless.

I was GIVEN a P3 500 Katmai System, ie Mobo, CPU, HD(16.8GB), SBLive Value, Vid card, and Network card, today.

From a friend of my dad's whom I blew away yesterday by my 1337 Win2K skillz when adding his server to the rack.

Yes, I KNOW, Linux is better, but Windows is the majority and ya sometimes just gotta live with it.

I'm not sure exactly what the vid card is yet, but it's definately NVidia(says copyright NVIDIA on the PCB), and it looks like 32MB of RAM.

Motherboard is SOYO, according to the NB HS unit, it's Slot 1. I'd be installing on it right now except for, THE GODDAMN HSF UNIT DON'T FIT!!!

Oh well, can't expect everything for free... Off to the PC store tommorrow...

how does it take W2K skills to mount a server in a rack? doesnt that require bolt-ratchet skills?

gmat 06-04-2001 02:08 PM

W2k skillz *do* include nuts&bots skillz, dont they... ?

Nope, it's common knowledge that MCSE certified people can be the stupidest hardware guys on earth, I've heard of one guy sticking a CD-Rom into a floppy drive.. That's something I'd expect out of my grandmother, not an MCSE, but never the less.. It's what happens when you tell everyone that the computer field pays best, so these dumbass loggers and farmers go to college and memorize the MCSE books, take the test, pass, and try to pretend they're computer guys.

Microsoft 06-05-2001 01:55 AM

yep. thats what i think too

Peltier_For_Brains 06-05-2001 09:59 AM

The guy was a relative Win2K idiot.

And you must factor in my age(13)...

Sounds like you're talking about my former boss... :p

And all those loggers/plumbers that took the MCSE tests and passed, makes it harder for us computer guys to get a job. Most employers thing that most MCSE's are paper MCSE's and are de-valuing the cert. Sucks.

Peltier_For_Brains 06-11-2001 09:33 PM

I took an internet copy of the MSCE test when I was 10...

According to it, I'm an MSCE engineer god!

wadie 06-13-2001 06:58 AM

I hate that, people think they can blame their lack of knowledge of something on the fact that they are young.

I see it all the ****ing time, "oh its not my fault I dont know shit, im only 13"

load of it.

imagex 06-13-2001 04:36 PM

only thing is that 13 yearold will more than likly know more than you do now when he's your age.

Finx 06-13-2001 05:04 PM

he said it said he was a " genius " at 10! 10 ****ing years old and hes an MSCE genius? i dont buy it
