Which CPU?
Should I get a 1ghz Athlon Palomino MP or should I get a 1.4 ghz Athlon Tbird? Same price...

Well, that 1.4 TBird will do 1.7GHz pretty easily. That Pal may not do more than 1.45-1.5GHz from what I've seen others do with it so far.. I don't think the Pal's performance difference is enough that it'll make up for a 200MHz loss.. Who knows though.. If your running DDR, the Pal may do better than the TBird because of it's pre-fetch.. And then there's the bragging rights of having a Palo right now.. And with the larger die, it'll be easier to cool, and it does put out less heat, so you'll have some pretty sweet temps with one of those chips, in theory.. :) (Me, I'd get a Pal, I'd overvolt the hell out of it, and set some speed records for everyone else to catch up to..) :)

Yah good call. I'm still debating though... I WILL have 512mb of DDR memory so that may be an issue for the palomino. Hmmm... I don't have to order for a week or two so i'll keep my eye out.

The question is, will you eventually be throwing it into a Thunder K7?

The answer is, No. :)
