Cooling Question
Which would be more effective and keep temps down lower... having a line going through a waterblock on a 156Watt pelt, then to chipset, then to video card... or have the pump split into two lines and go to vid card and chipset on one and the pelt on the other... then back into one line into the rad.

in all honesty, I think you are trying to cool too much with one loop, you should consider putting at least a second loop into your system. The CPU should be on a dedicated loop with it's own pump and Rad since it is the greatest source of heat. the the second loop with it's own pump and Rad can cool the chipset and vid card.

i have a Dangerden Cooling Cube... is this not effecient enough to handle them all?

that's not the point.
however you set up your loop your components will heat the components that are down the line instead of cooling them. if you put your cpu first then the vidcard and the chipset will be getting warm water, you can't help that. If you put the cpu last the the vid card and chipset will be heating the pelt on the cpu, which is bad. since your rad can't go sub ambient you have no control over this. if you split the water lines then your going to run into problems with flow. eddies and hotspots will start forming because of the water lacking any pressure (since you divide the pressure amongst the two lines). with eddies and hotspots, your cooling won't be very efficient. that's why I feel that you should get a second loop with it's own rad and especially it's own pump. |
Well, splitting the lines may work. but as cryonisis said, a straight line won't be effective. By the time the H2O hits the third block, it will be REALLY hot. If you get a high powered pump, then using "T" adaptors may be a good route to take.
