Calculating Power

How do you calculate the power load on a given system. Just wondering how to add up the wattages and amp's. 12v , 5v . Is there a formula. How 'bout the motherboard power comsumption. Don't ever remember seeing that any where, or even being interested in it.

oh let's see here

watts = amperage x voltage
amperage = Voltage / resistance

details on consumption by the CPU, motherboard, etc. have to be found out from the manufacturer.

<side note>peltiers are not 100% effiecient so do not expect them to follow the W=VxA perfectly</sn>
