GF Ti 500 memory not what it seems

Hi to all :)

I'm a bit concerned about Visionteks 3.8ns memory as against the ref Ti500 3.5ns items.
Is this a trend or a one off?
I'm bothered because it seems that all the extra cost of a Ti500 is just for the extra core clock (which has a minimal effect on perf) against the price of a regular GF3.

Makes the Ti200 even more of a bargain methinks :p

Yah that sux you want the extra o/cing headroom... :(

RedTalon19 11-26-2001 05:00 PM

the ti200 is nice, my friend just got a asus board just 2 days ago and he is looking for another OCing program besides the coolbits reg edit... why you ask? he's maxed out the OCing ability at 240/500 or whatever it is

i'm ready to ditch my radeon 64 vivo once they go sub $200

Still trying to find a better video OC program? Try Powerstrip.

http://www.entechtaiwan.com/

It is the only program that I have found that does exactly what I want. It allows me to OC my Core and memory clocks and adjust the gamma settings while playing a game; no ALT-TABing necessary. Also has LOTS of cool tweaks you can use as well; enabling anti-aliasing and anisotropic, disabling v-sync in both D3D and OpenGL, and lots more.

On my GF3, the program allows up to 266Mhz core and 609 memory OC. Of course I cant say what it will allow with other cards but the compatability list pretty much covers everything and supports all MS OSs.

Try it, cant hurt..........Unless you fry your video from too much OCing :)
Good luck.

as long as it does the stock speed, you can't really complain.....

if you want something that is guarenteed to overclock, go get a gainward

just get a oem 8500 vmod it flash the bios and u got your self a card faster card for less money

if you want the absolute best, just go for a gainward ti550, they actually do support overclocking, the pcb for the card is their own design, and they offer one of the better cooling setups.

Yeah gainward shocked me with how sweet there cards our I bought a $99 gf2 ti/450 got the thing running 300/500Mhz stock cooling! Good deal I say

yeah, one of the people i know in NZ has a gf3 ti200 from them, it is doing 255/330, with no mods, other than an 80mm fan pointed at it
