reservoir
 
I am currently running my system with an inline pump and have no room for a reservoir in my case. I am getting a bigger case soon. if i added a reserevoir, would i see a cooling increase, or just easier filling?

Probably not, but it might run a little quieter if your current setup has lots of air in it.

if you where to put a LARGE reservoir into you config you could probably get a little better temps... but in my opinion its not worth the space it takes up...

If the argument, that submerged pumps dump the heat to the water that inlines disipate to the air, is true, then then you could get worse temps by changing to a res/pump.

yeah, but that is only if your rad is overloaded

Yah. I personally don't believe it makes much difference, the heat from the pump is so much less than a CPU exept at idle.

i would never run my pump inside the reservoir. but to use one as a way to get more water into the system. the more the water the longer it takes to warm it. or anyways that is how it works with aquariums... but i guess it applies to watercoolingsystems aswell :)

but if you have an Al or Cu walled res then some of the heat will espcape from that

I wouldn't put the pump in the res. It will add heat to the water. My pump get a little warm and I have it running in-line. Think about it, if the pump is in the res not only will there will be heat from the cpu but also the pump. I guess you can do it if you have a big rad and or big res. Adding a res only make the water longer to stablize. Eventually it will reach the cooling capacity limit of you setup. If you have a good setup it will reach ambient and that the most it will go. Unless you have a chiller or something.
