RedLine vs Purple Ice corrosion test
Has anyone done a corrosion test between redline and purple ice? I saw a corrosion test done on redline vs plain distilled water...
i was thinking about doin this being that i have always used redline, and just got a bottle of purple ice. what do ya think? |
I thought that both were intended to give you 0 corrosion ;)

right now i will just take the recommended mixtures cause i am short on $ to be buyin more.
2oz redline per gal (computer recommended i think car is 6-8 per gal) 8oz water wetter per gal (im assuming this is the car recommended, so ill try a 2 oz also) |
just do it in 1oz increments, until you see the temps start to rise again

thats a whole different test... i was just gonna do corrosion testing with metals in a cup... with the 3 mixtures =)
i care more about longetivity and quietness than a degree or two in performance =) but i might try that |

you should use some Al, and some Cu in it, thats more real world than just one piece of one sort of metal |
yup .. that was my intent.. probably some brass to.. but that wouldnt matter...
i also wanted to get one EXTREMELY cathodic and one EXTREMELY anodic metal... that would accelerate the corrosion.... but that would only show which was better.... and not how long they last |
just go for the whole thing. CuSil, Silver, Cu, Al, Brass. You might be able to get some stuff free that way

hehe yea... i would be very suprised if i got a cusl anything for free... and i really have no real background for ppl to want to give me anything... oh well... thats not what its about anyway.... just feel like doin something for the watercooling community

but if it takes a couple of months, and you haven't seen any differance, then you'll need to speed it up
