Moding an Addtronics 6890A
I have an Addtronics 6890A case (and have had for nearly two years), and wanna do some groovy stuff with it... I'm looking to get a custom etched window from designcomp.com, and want to paint it a nice shiny orange... as per the painting and polishing article on procooling.com.
First of all, I wanna know what I can do with the plastic front. I doubt if I can get it as bright-orange as the rest of the case. Also, I'm not going to use watercooling or anything, so I want to run better fans through the front (enlarge the fan holes, etc.), and I wanna know if I should do something to the plastic front cover to aid ventilation as well. Thanks in advance for your input! |
Actually, you may want to stick with only one or two fans up front, unless you are going for some specific cosmetic look.
Remember, too many fans may actually reduce your cooling. If the fans are fighting each other, they will just recycle the hot air. If you have ventilation holes, make sure that they don't interfere with optimum air patterns. You want cool air coming into the case, going across hot components, and then immediately exiting the case. The wrong fan placement could take incoming cool air and expel it before it even cools your mobo, CPU or cards. |
