Need some advice on radiator mounting....
I've got a Big Mamma that I plan to mount in my Antec KS-188 and I'd like to get some opinions/ideas on what y'all think is the best way to mount it. Here's what I currently have planned: Cut out a mounting hole in the top case panel and fit the radiator in it. It is thicker than the case panel, so it will stick up by about .5" or so. Then I'd construct a duct out of sheet styrene or tin running up 2" or 3" to a 120mm Pabst fan that I have laying around. This will be my first attempt at a duct, so I dont know if this is such a hot idea or not. The sides of the radiator are pretty fragile, so I thought about sheathing them in sheet styrene or something like that to give them a bit of protection.
The more I look at this the more I'm thinking that I need to go to a Cube case of somekind... that or a Coldforge when they come out, cashflow permitting. Opinions, anybody? --HP |

err, I was thinking of li-lian cases, nevermind.
In my ks-188 I cut out a square in the top plate behind the hard drive rack above the psu and put my 120mm aquastealth radiator there with a 120mm fan on both sides of it. I don't think a big momma would fit there tho. You could mount it under the hard drive rack in the front of the case too, but you'll need to make some vent holes in the front of the case. --MAtt --Matt |
