iceflow pics

Here are some pics of an iceflow prototype chip sent me a few daysbefore he went out of business. He said they will be available through the people who make the alloy although he will no longer make them.

in some quick testing i did, it got .15 c/w

Brad 02-04-2002 03:01 PM

how does .15c/w compare to your previous block? I ask because each person's thermistor/diode records differant temps

decodeddiesel 02-04-2002 03:35 PM

g00p!!! :D

Hmmm, looks fairly interesting, but whats up with a finish on the contact area!?!?! BAD... Also is it made out of Al? I would like to see the inside of it.

Pyrotechnic 02-04-2002 03:36 PM

he did use plumbers goop on the fittings :) So it's definetly made by chip

derraa 02-04-2002 04:06 PM

The cap is made out of anondized Al, but the plate is an alloy. I beleve it has the same inside as the plexi top version chip had in the round up. As for my past .cw, with my v-tuned I got .20, so it is a significant improvment. The temps might improve, too. the ASIII was just aplied. The temps were with my dd5 next to the core

Fixittt 02-04-2002 09:56 PM

that looks like a sloppy joint. I dont know if I would trust it in my machine. It takes alot more then pretty red color and some engraving, to make up for that awfull joint. why was it not all anadized at the same time, after it was joined?
Also, hasnt any one heard of chamfering holes, or dedurring?

Dont mean to sound so harsh, but i wish people would take more pains in the little things.

ahh... the end of an era of watercooling..

Joe 02-04-2002 11:03 PM

the end of one era ( in a loose sense of the term) the starting of a possibly more ethical and more professional take on this market.

derraa 02-05-2002 05:38 AM

Uhhhh.... it isnt meant to be the best looking block. It is a prototype, not a production.

ItsSoLARGE 02-05-2002 08:32 AM

yeah I know.. just saying that because the polyblock was my first waterblock.. and it was a time when you could actually talk to Chip

Fixittt 02-07-2002 03:50 PM

well with it being a prototype block...... I guess we will never see the production block.....

derraa 02-07-2002 06:20 PM

Chip said that the block will be put into production by the company that makes the plate.

Joe 02-07-2002 06:22 PM

Yeh like anyone should believe jack shit what that guy says anymore...

derraa 02-07-2002 07:07 PM

I am not saying it is true, but I dotn see any reason for him to lie.

Joe 02-07-2002 07:08 PM

I didnt see any reason for him to ripp off customers and suppliers either.

he still owes HWLabs almost 3000$!!!

derraa 02-07-2002 09:00 PM

well, I guess the only thing we can do is wait and see if chip is telling the truth. He said it would be available in about a month.

Joe 02-07-2002 09:01 PM

Hmm he says hes out of business also....

mkosem 02-07-2002 10:36 PM

good point!
