so does anyone use or have used the newer leufken or older water blocks? and do you like them?

most of their stuff isn't too bad, but I wouldn't recommend that direct die block of theirs

I've never been too impressed with their stuff. The blocks were always just drilled passages, which works, but can be beat easily. The radiators were always just oil coolers, which suck in general. The pumps were usually Rio's or offshoots of Rio's, so your going to have reliability issues. And that direct die deranged block he's pushing now.. Don't even get me started on that one. I think you'd be better off just following the herd and buying from DangerDen.. ;)

Now Unaclocker, U have to be fair, at least Tom is willing to try new stuff, I am not saying direct die is new, but I dont know of anyone else who is at least trying to bring it into the market. My hats off to tom for that, that is always what I have tried to do. But I wouldnt use one.

ohh and just to raise the hair on your arms unclocker....... I have an acrylic topped block, and a RIO pump :)

flame on, brother.. ;) hehe (as in your lid, when the rio dies and the pelt brings the block up to a high enough temp for the plastic to spontaneously combust).. ;) hehe.. ;)

hmmm , i was planning on buy the rez w/pump and a waterblock w/retention clip but if you guys say its not worth it then im reconsidering.

maze2's are really expensive :( but if its whats good i will get one

they aren't much more expensive than anything else, and at least you know they will perform well, and won't leak

20$ more then the leufken aluminum block

I was talking about the relative cost of a Tbird and mobo...

No matter which block you opt for get a 4 bolt retention, anything which doesn't use one is junk IMO :)

butch, I disagree, the maze1c holddown is nice

I tested stuff for Leufken about a year and a half ago. My
opinion on his stuff is this.

It's inexpensive, does an acceptable job of cooling, and is as
reliable as the quality of the assembly.

I've got one of his original Rio pump based resovoirs and it's
been running for almost two years...honestly though, I think
I'm just very lucky...those little pumps never seemed too
powerfull...but mine keeps pumping along (although VERY
slowly).

IMHO, it's a great setup, if you just want to do as good or
slightly better then HIGH END AIR cooling, but without the
buzz of the fans and not invest in SERIOUS water cooling.
Which is pretty much what mine is doing now...
