Which ehiem pump for my setup?

I'm just going to be cooling my CPU down. I've been doing alotta research, and I want a very compact pump, but doesn't sound possible really..

I'm running 3/8" ID hose, a Maze II w/b, Black Ice Rad, with a Panaflo M1A.

Should I just fork over the extra $10 to get the 1250 over the 1048 and enjoy the versatility if I ever want to upgrade?

Also I have seen pumps called Maxi Jets or Mini jets. Anyone have any take on these?

Also where is the cheapest place to get Ehiem pumps?

DigitalChaos 02-05-2002 10:23 PM

actually the cheapest place i found my 1250 was at dangerden, of all the online stores dangerden was cheapest.
maybe ebay if you look around, but i didnt see any when i needed it.

I'd just spend a bit more money, and get the bigger pump, it's $11 more for twice the waterflow.

DDen has the 1250 for $68, which is fairly cheap

Yeah, I'm in the same debate right now myself. I'd like as small
a pump as possible, but that 300Gpr does sound nice!

Ok now my question is, how will this fit inside my PC6X Case? Tight squeeze or what?

Also if I have to put it where I think i have to put it... Will it interfere with my 120mm fan pulling air through the radiator?

At the front intake is where I want my radiator, then the fan pulling air, then the pump behind that...

What exactly are the dimensions of these pumps?

I've seen people do that with the 600gph Eheim, they needed to use fairly small pci cards in the bottom few slots, but other than that there wasn't a problem.

This was in a PC60, with a big mama and a 120mm

they are actually pretty big.
my eheim 1250 is:

3.5" wide
7" long
5" high

and you will want to add any extra room for hose bends and size adjustments

What rad are you going to put there? I've had trouble finding something to fit there.

I say go w/ the smaller Eheim. It is more compact and quieter. It sounds like space is a concern for you so why push it? I have a 1250 and while I like it very much, I only got it because my system has two radiators, a reservoir, a a future of multiple waterblocks. I really think the 1048 will be fine for you, and you'll be happy with it.

As stated in my original post I have a black ice radiator...

What are the measurements of the 1048? the 1250 I think is too big.

Here are the dimensions for the 1048:

If you are buying an Eheim with a Lian Li PC6X in mind I would say go with the 1048. Is it smaller and less powerfull but with a heatercore or some type of BI the pressure drop is negligible and you will get good results.
