water cooling on TechTv "Screensavers"
 

anyone here see that lame show? i mean where the hell did they dig up that first system? it had waterlines thinner than my pinky!! and the rad? yeah it was all copper, but they were trying to use a rad smaller than my hand( loop and fin design no less!) to cool down an Athlon?? hella lame.

they did show the koolance system, which while its "nifty" is still WAY under powered. i am really surprised they didn't have someone from procooling or overclockers.com or hell ANYONE out there with a REAL system to show off. just depressing.

on the other fin it was nice to see a little WC exposure outside of the net.

They did actually contact me about a year ago.

But they really just dropped the ball.

i saw it , it was beyond lame , if you watched closely it showed that pat didnt know sh*t about computers he tried to overclock a 100mhz fsb athlon to 160mhz fsb wtf?! . they had bent hoses all over the place also. and HE FRIED another chip how in hell do you fry 4 chips? after 1 you woul atleast get a clue.

lol, still what do you expect from something like that? Joe, ring them up and tell them you want to do it....

hell I am halfway tempted to call them up and demand they put a real tech on the show.

it was a 133 fsb chip. he killed one chip before the show, and i suppose 3 in the past. his old chip went to 151 fsb with stock cooling, so i suppose he was trying to show the "power of watercooling"....lol

watercooling is great because of stability and quiet. i have never gotten so much as 1 mhz more out of any of my chips when switching from air cooled to water....but they sure as hell were more stable at thier peak speed!

but if you put 2.3v through it, you'll get a lot more out of water

I give Tech TV about as much creedance as Toms Hardware, and thats being generous.

it was an organic package....and i think when the bios popped up it was set at 133. dunno for sure i didn't record it or anything. i am sure it'll be re-run eventually tho.

Brad is right I dont know how you could cool a athlon at 2.3Vcore with air cooling water is the only way and boy does it do a good job and you dont have the screaming delta 60-80mm in your case :)

it might be possible to use either a pal8045 and a 92mm adapter with a 110cfm delta, or use a big slot A alpha and 2x 60mm 44cfm fans......

Hey I dont know if U remember, but a while back, they DID have Cold Dogs water cooled system, and a few others from the hard forum on there, mainly focusing on custom cases though, but had some nice quality water cooled system, Stilts from Faraday Platings even made them a custon case.
