remaking the Spir@l tops

Well...... I dont ever think I am gonna get my o-rings that I ordered. So Paul and I are remaking the tops for o-rings that I can get plenty off, Its just a small change, but it will also render the 50 or so tops I have already machined useless. Oh well...... Im tired of waiting.

Brad 02-19-2002 11:34 PM

could you just use silicone grease or something in the space where the o-ring normally is?

just use goop, chip was fine for a while like that :)

(giggles)

LOL matt.... im not a goop kinda guy, plus with the top being acrylic, it would look like crap-ola. Im a perfectionist, I like doing things right, even if it means taking longer, But anyways

about the tops, we were having alot of problems getting the G code right for the CNC mill, but it is all good now, I bought the acrylic matiral I am gonna need and will start doing the tops soon.

Fixittt, any idea when you will be taking orders again?

Fixittt 02-22-2002 10:53 AM

Oh im thinking sometime in 2004 maybe early spring.

LOL just kidding

I first have to run another set of spir@ls to finish off this list we have now, I am hoping to have the g code written sometime this up coming week to run the spirals on my little mill. I will slowly whittle the list down.

May start taking orders again in a month or two....... maybe....

I am also thinking about taking down the size from 1 inch thick to 3/4 or 1/2 to aid in machining time. Will test the smaller version to see if they match the preformance of the 1 inch thick block first.

Sounds good Fixittt. I think it's pretty cool how you update everyone on the forums so you don't have people thinking they were forgotten about. So what are the differences in the O-Rings? Also are you back on a professional CNC mill or just your desktop mill for the time being?

DodgeViper 02-22-2002 11:07 AM

Ok thanks, I can't wait that long.

Fixittt 02-22-2002 01:47 PM

Sorry bout that viper, I would highly recomend a sidewinder from d-tek, or of course the maze series for a block for u.

No, im not on a pro CNC machine anymore. Wish I was. So I will have to use my desktop CNC mill I have at home. It will take longer to machine the blocks, but at least I can become consistant. Not have to wait for the machine to become avaliable and not have to waste a weekend away from home.

Plus I am still trying to out source the mill work if I can.
