CPUfx Resorvoir/pump

Total liquid newbie right here! :D I'm considering getting into the water-cooling scene just to get rid of that damn whiny 60mm Delta we all know and "love." I was just wondering what you guys' thoughts are on that resorvoir/pump thing by CPUfx (spec'd at 500gph). I've noticed you guys aren't particularly fond of the Z4 block, just interested to see if that sort of poor quality of design is in the res/pump as well. I suppose I could ask what y'all think of the basic setup I'm thinking of getting while I'm at it... Recommendations certainly welcome!

DangerDen Maze 1C - Don't wanna deal with the 4 screw posts
DangerDen heatercore rad w/ a low noise 120mm of sorts
Resorvoir/pump to be determined ;)
I'd like to stay away from a closed loop system in favor of the user-friendliness of a resorvoir.

Hey JayDee - how many other Amdmb'ers are over here?

And is there a way to change my registered nickname? I screwed up when I typed that...

Thanks for anything!

it sucks

the rest of your setup is good, although you could buy a maze2 and a maze1c holddown, it'd still work, and just buy an eheim from dden

Grand Forks North Dakota!! Not too many ND OCers out there that I've seen, very cool (literally). The only reason I say it is all of my family aside from my parents are either in Bismarck or Mandan...well I got an uncle in Madison WI but close enough.

Anyway, yes it is advisable you stay away from CPUfx/OCH. Their designs are very flawed (not to mention their marketing tactics). The res/pump in question here uses a boat bilge pump, these pumps run on DC and are designed to be run for short periods of time (a few minutes, 30 at the most), they are cheap, and not at all reliable. You probably have a month or 2 before it just up and dies on you, especialy if you leave you computer running for an extended period of time everyday. Instead I would highly recomend you look at an Eheim and perhaps read Unaclocker's article "The Rock" here on Procooling to give you an idea on how a hybrid inline reservoir works. I think this is deffiniatly the best tradeoff between an inline and res. system and is deffiniatly what you are looking for. Stay warm
