Eheim 1250 fitting prob.

I went to the danger den site to check out the fittings for the eheim 1250 pump. Now, its got a 3/8" and 5/8" fitting. I want the D-Tek rad which is 1/2" fittings. Danger Den only has 5/8" to 1/2" converters and 1/2" to 3/8" but no 3/8" to 1/2". How do I make this work? Also is the ehaim 1060 which is rated at 600 GPH overkill? Cause that has 1" and 5/8" fittings. Danger Den has converters for both the fittings but I wasn't sure if 600 GPH is too much.

The Eheim 1250 is 1/2" and 3/4" (www.eheim.com ). The confusion comes as Danger Den likes to sell silicon hose in smaller sizes to be "stretched" onto these fittings (for the average joe with a 3/8" system). For you run the 1/2" outlet unmoded, and get a 5/8" to 1/2" conversion for the inlet and "stretch" it over the 3/4" (it's silicon, it fairly stretchable).

You should be able to get a 3/8" to 1/2" converter at any decent hardware store. My local Home Depot definitely has them, and so does my local Ace's Hardware.

I'd think the 1080 pump would be overkill, since the Big Momma is a pretty free-flowing radiator.

Do take into account the pump casing is plastic and very thin so avoid tapered fittings because it is very easy to crack the inlet or outlets like I did. Araldite fixed it ok but it would have been better not to have cracked it in the first place

The 1/2 inch DangerDen streches over the 3/4 inch fitting fine. Their clamps do not, so buy the screw-on type from a local hardware store.
