Dissapointed in BeCooling's Kit, now looking for alternatives
Hey guys, This is my first post here. I had the AquaStealth II Kit from becooling. They were quite generous and offered me a great discount because i am using it for my research project for my diploma. I hooked it all up and my temps were sky high at 41C for an Athlon XP 1700+. No overclocking, no load.
Read on about my troublers @ http://www.icronticforums.com/showth...threadid=22975 So i was browsing around in this forum. Looking for more info on how i can make my own kit. I am still up for that idea but i came across this kit @ iceepc.com I thought it looked pretty professional but i dunno if it would better than me making my own kit. Check it out @ http://www.iceepc.com/919.htm . Tell me what you think of it. Go for that, or make my own kit? Sonix  |
the rad in your setup isn't too good, but the waterblock and pump are ok.
go to DDen and buy their heatercore radiator, then see how your temps are |
Waterblock from iceepc is $67.99... it is kind of a lot for waterblock unless it is proven that it is working much better than more modest priced Spir@l, Maze, Swiftech. I was not able to find any reviews on this waterblock.
As Brad said you better look for a little bit better radiator. Also make sure that you do not have an air trapped somewhere in the system. |
So they are the best in water-cooling.....

Which kit are you guys referring to? The BeCooling one or the ICEePC one?
Did any of you find a good review of the iceepc one? Sonix P.S. I already returned the becooling POS |
yeah, the icepc stuff doesn't look too good to me.
just stay with dangerden |
becooling's JaggedEdge block is excellent, I was pulling lower temps with it than I am with my current maze1c block which is supposedly better. Invest some cash on a better pump(if you got the cube res.) and a heatercore or some better radiator.

I hope you were reading temps with the in-die temp diode, and not the crappy motherboard thermistor.. 41c doesn't some that unreasonable for motherboard temp probe reading on that CPU. You have to keep in mind that you don't have air blowing around the motherboard from a HSF anymore, so the motherboard probe almost always reads higher than it should. But I do agree with the others, your only problem with that setup was the radiator, BeCooling makes a great block, and the pump was pumping.. ;)

yeah that little tranny cooling in the becool setup is what sucks replace that with a heatercore and you will be good to go.

I'd say what everyone else said about the rad, but it's already been said enough! |
