My Poor Poor Duron
 

well today I descided to play with my duron. Its a 950 unlocked/

I could get 1.3 with the multiplyers. but the FSB had to stay at 100. And never being happy, I lowered the multiplyer and cranked the FSB.

I could not beleive when it posted at 150 x 8 and booted.
it poseted at 150 x 8.5 and 150x9 but win xp blew up

So, volt mod maybe?

Actually all the durons I ever had will do 150+FSB.One I used: 600, 700, 800, 950, and 1gig. The key is just lower the multi and raise the FSB like you did.

there is no reason why a cpu wouldn't like a high fsb. 1000mhz is the same to it whether it is 10x100, 7.5x 133 or 5x 200 for that matter.

Durons can handle the voltage..... I ran a D600 at 1122 for a long time.... 2.32v on the core..... well ok you need some major cooling, but that aint a problem... right :)

I agree. My Duron 1gig ran 2 month at 1200mhz 150 FSB at 2.20Vcore with AIR COOLING!!! Still never got over 45C. Durons rock!!! I really like the 1gig morgan core duron. OC that baby 1200mhz and it is damn near as fast as a 1.2gig T-Bird because of the extra XP core instruction and efficency in it. Not to mention they ar $49 Shipped at www.newegg.com right now.

:) and not to forget.... Durons (morgan) is fully functional MP CPU's ..... ya ya the box say other things, but the box get thrown in the garbage.... right... and the newer CPUs can be made into being recognized by the new MPX chipsets as a MP cpu anyhow....(for that matter even the Xp's)

right now I have 3 D1G's 1 on a K7S5A (ECS) @1240 Mhz and the other two on my Tiger sitting at 1150 mhz... (hardware overclocked) indeed... the Tiger MP motherboard has a undocumented FSB jumper setting, giving you 115 Mhz.....

I can take them up to 119 with Soft-FSB.. but I don't trust that proggy all that much....

Yeap, more good stuff on Durons, one of the most overlooks CPU's there is IMO.

yeah, durons are cool, they blow celerons out of the water at just about any clock speed too

Im running my Duron 600@1200 with Vcore at 2.3, it get's hot :)

But I love the durons, fun to overclock....Now im aiming for a XP333 and TwinMos PC2100 (same as PC2700) = 6x multiplier and 200fsb :) :cool:
