Swiftech MCW462-UT complete 226W TEC assembly

WOuld this be alittle to much for bix to handle?http://www.cooltechnica.com/Merchant.../MCW462-UT.gif

Hahaha, I would be more worried about your PSU. If you run a couple of high flow fans at 12v, then It would probably do the job noisily.

Weedkiller420 03-20-2002 12:15 PM

I would use this single output switching power supply for 226Whttp://www.cooltechnica.com/Merchant...01/s320-12.jpg

MeltMan 03-20-2002 12:17 PM

wow, where did you ever find something like that?

intersting silicone he used i think am going to buy someone later

the octools guide is probably the best about condensation.

as for the bix handling the heatload, it will without a problem, just make sure you have a high airflow going through it

I have the fans going through my BIX in a push pull configuration. In addition they are on a maelstorm rheostat. I usually have the fans on the lowest setting possible and get temps between 34-38 degrees celsius. If I crank up the fans to full strenght 12volts I get temps of 33-37. I'm only seeing 1 degree celsius improvements when I increase my airflow (and noise) by a factor of 2-3. Just a thought.

That combination may not be as great as you think. The 226W pelt sold with the Swiftech is a 15W, 24A unit with a 55W deltaT. The Meanwell PSU that is sold for use with the Swifty is a 12V 25A unit. You won't get the full performance from the Swiftech with it, and so something like this:

http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bi...512&type=store

may be more appropriate. I haven't actually used that PSU on allelectronics; I was just pointing out something to consider :)

If dangerden will have 220W tecs with a 72C deltaT then those are definitely the ones to wait for :)

well from what i know about tecs they have a sweet spot for proformence which is usualy 1 or 2v below specs......so like a 15v would run fine at 12v...and as the voltage goes down so does the amp requierment....so that ps u showed would be great cause its adjustible so he could find the perfect voltage for that tec
