Finally, some good news.
 

I RMA'd an Iwill XP333 version 1.0 last month, because of a bios chip that was bad. (I have 2 of these boards)

I just picked up the replacement this morning. A brand spanking new version 2.1.:D The 2.1 will give me a 2.035 Vcore.(1.85, and a +10% setting),and has a few refinements that I'm not too sure about...I've heard a capacitor or two was added.

Either way, I'm impressed. I bought a board, they released a couple revisions since(2.0 and 2.1), and they didn't hesitate to send me the newest version. I've been happy with Iwill for it's stability and performance...now they just added customer support to that list.

heh I just wish companies would keep res 1.0 in house finish all the testing to get to res 2.1 and then let people spend their money on it. We shouldnt be the test monkeys, now if they paid us to do it then I wouldnt have a problem.. :)

Uh, all the major manufacturers have several board revisions that you never see. The problem is that no one has enough money or time to test all the combinations and conditions that the real market will bring to bear on a board.

I'd say the solution is to tighten the specifications, but many vendors aren't even following the specifications that are one the books. For example, remember VIA's hanging problems with nVidia cards? Well, it wouldn't have happened if nVidia didn't violate the 32-clock maximum limit for grabbing the bus! Oh, and nVidia is one of the better companies... There are far-eastern companies that violate spec just to save a few pennies on things like PSU's.... Think on that one and try to sleep at night.

I don't mean to squelch your point. Companies are introducing products without sufficient testing. True! But, the problem is not always the company that you think it is.

If asus sent me 5 duallie boards of rev 1.0 to do some testing on, I wouldn't be worried :P

If that was the case, there'd be no KT266a, just a GOOD KT266.:D ...and on that note, I completely agree with OcPunk.

There's too much of a race to get products out the door.

I'm not really for or against anybody, I'll just stand up and praise (as in repeat business)any company that delivers a solid product. Service and support is as much a part of the product as the PCB or PCI slots.

with SiS releasing great chipsets recently, via slowly getting better, and AMD releasing theirs at launch, i personlly can't see there being any more stuff up chipsets (i820, i845, kt266).

Intel thinks their 845D/E is the new BX, but it will not exist for 3 years like the 440bx. imho the 440bx is still the best P3 chipset out there, pity it has issues (at times) with multipliers over 8.5x, and won't work with tualatins.

The 760 works with 600 - 1.0 durons, 1.0 - 1.4 morgans, 700 - 1.4 T-Birds, 1.3 - 1.7 Palomino's, .13u Tbred's, and dual of all of these processors. It can support 64bit 66mhz pci, heaps of ram, 6 pci.

i really really like the 760, I wish amd would keep producing the 760.
