How many fans do you have in you system?

.

Haddy 03-29-2002 11:26 AM

4 80's, 1 120, and 1 92

decodeddiesel 03-29-2002 11:55 AM

1x 80mm in my PSU, 1x 172mm on my heatercore, 1x 120mm blowing on my cards and VRM, assorted Chipset and GPU small fans. My CDROM and HDD are louder than every fan in the system though

Xel 03-29-2002 12:41 PM

Are there 'silent' HDs and CD-ROMs you can buy? My CD-ROM makes this damn whirring noise.. can't.. stand it...

decodeddiesel 03-29-2002 01:19 PM

Silent HDDs yes, the Seagate Baracuda IVs are as close to silent you can get due to the fluid bearing design. As for CDROMs about the only thing you can do is get a low speed one and suffer with a slow CDROM.

Cyco-Dude 03-29-2002 04:19 PM

3 120mm and 2 80mm clear-bladed fans. (and of course the PSU and GPU fan, but those dont count...)

Kevin 03-29-2002 04:34 PM

Tough question... not including internal power supply fans, one computer here has zero. Anothre has eight ;). I voted in favor of the Black Ice system though.

Six- FIVE if you don't count the PS fan

Two 120 MM on the radiator. (water cooled)
Three 80 MM La1's one in two out- case.
And one 80 MM inside the Antec PS.

10x 120's on the rad, 2x 80's in the psu. the 120's are quieter than the psu's at 7v, but at 12v you are looking at 1080cfm going through the rads.

What a hayden? And you need 10 120MM's?

Jim

Brad 03-29-2002 09:16 PM

I don't need 10 of them, I can run passively most of the time, but it's just so I know they are going to cool it all

ECUPirate 03-30-2002 12:13 AM

what is a hayden and where can I see one?? post pics pls.

thebigNil 03-30-2002 12:42 AM

I have 12x 90mm fans on my rad but I normally run them at 5volts. My gpu fan makes a lot more noise then them.

If only I had money I'd have more stuff then just the cpu water cooled.

Brad 03-30-2002 01:33 AM

DDen sells them, but much smaller than the ones I have.

12x 90mm fans, what radiator is that on?

Yeah, I would like to see it too.

And thebigNil, how big is your radiator? Got a picture?

THESE ARE HUGE RADIATORS!

Jim

jag_e_fattig 03-30-2002 08:54 AM

4x80mm 2x60mm 1x50mm

the creature 03-30-2002 03:26 PM

I had been awake for houres, when I wrote the post, and now when I got some houres of sleep awake I read the post, some bad choices(?) and english

thebigNil 03-31-2002 01:00 AM

The radiator I have is 12"x15" (30cm x 38cm) I got it from a local surplus store for $25 which is good I guess. It is a tube and fin radiator with 1/2" id copper tubes and aluminum fins.

I'll post some pics once I figure out how :D.

Brad 03-31-2002 01:25 AM

if they are under 65k, just use the proforums to host them

thebigNil 03-31-2002 02:00 AM

I tried but the smallest that I could get it was 330kb without it looking bad. I signed up for a pict hosting account but I'm too tired to mess around with it tonight. I'll post the picts that I have tomorrow sometime.
