http://www.theinquirer.net/08040208.htm
Intel must think AMD is doing something right, to invest like that |
hehe, anything to make money heh...

as the article said, they even bought stock in Sun
|
yea its really just good busniess sense....if compeitors are doing well...might as well profit in that to make up for ur losses
|
if so intel should have bought heaps of amd stuff 1st august 2000. and sold them when intel bought out the northwood
|
This is what you do to a competitor, when you have more money.
You slowly buy their stock, and become a large and larger share holder. Eventually, you own enough stock to influence the company descisions, and if you own that magical 51%, you can literally control the company. |
intel is a huge company compared to just about anyone out there, if they wan't to buy amd they could in a heartbeat without blinking
|
Sure they could buy AMD, but you try and convince the everyone that it's not a monopoly to own the basically the entire processor market.

you're forgetting the Via C3 ;)

VIA C3 are perfectly reasonable processors. For keychains.

If you can't beat 'em... buy them out before they become a threat.
