Ever had the Battery make your computer not post?
I've never had a battery --the bios battery00 die on me in a computer before. Hell, my 486DX2 still boots and it's never had the battery replaced.
On my Kg7 however, it wouldn't post this afternoon. I had already bought a battery, because it kept posting times that were progressivly slower. Well, while rebooting because I was mounting a new HD in my swap bay --non hot swappable-- my computer wouldn't post at all. I thought I fried something, so I checked everything, cleaned everything... still wouldn't boot. Then I thought, hell, I'll replace the damn battery while I've got the door open, and sure enough, that made it boot.... ----- I've just never heard of a dead battery causing a non-post. I've heard it just clearing out all your Cmos info, but that's it. |
unless the battery is shorted out, that'd stop it
