I have, it isn't hard, you just need to be very careful when measuring. The one area I didn't do was the motherboard tray, it's just too complex

I started too... but got really discourage with all drive bay stuff I wanted to do....

I had "free" MDF, but that shit is a complete pain to cut.... So I said screw it, and I'll just by a server case in a month or so.

And then I'll say "Bye bye coolermaster 201 sx... you were a good case, but size does matter...." :D

tempting but i dont really ahve the tools or the time to build something that takes that much measuring (i always measure once and cut twice AND ITS STILL TO SHORT!)

bradford010 04-15-2002 06:21 AM

I sometimes go the 'measure twice, still get it wrong, throw the stuff out' route. :D

hmorgoth 04-16-2002 04:36 PM

i don't have to measure!!!!

i don't have to measure but i do have to pay the engineering firm down the road.... i know the owner and they have a huge cnc mil and loads of other cool workshop toys.. :-P:p

Thanks for all the help guys though.. Now all i have to do is draw some plans!!!! Doh this may take a while!

w00t for my first post!

ok down to business....i too will be making my own case. my dad has a sheet metal shop so i want to make it out of some nice brush-polished stainless steel. im gonna use my current case as template and expand it a little ;) (have to make room for 3 X 250 watt PSUs im gonna rig together so i can power a 226watt peltier and the rest of the future water-cooling im putting in) I want to start on the project sometime next week since im kinda finishing up high school at the moment.

Have fun!

PS: let me know your progress and ill keep you updated on mine.

please let me know if you need to contract a structural analysis engineer. maybe I can help you design a mass efficient carbon-fiber thin shelled buckle-proof structure for you. are you going to do modal analysis? how about dynamics?

j/k
