Brad 04-18-2002 01:55 AM

hehe, I'll show you what my pumps can do at some point

mkosem 04-19-2002 08:23 AM

well, the pump works great! it's as quiet as my eheim was! it seems to get prety warm but other than that it's excellent and I am uber happy with it. I'll post some pics of my system when I get home from school.

with an old style maze2, dtek heatercore, and that pump I am pulling CPU temps 15C over ambient at full load. I am running a northwood 1.6 at 2.4 with the voltage at 1.7v. I'm hoping that a vmod will score me a little higher clock.

15C ? isnt that a bit high ? i thought about 7-8C was about average for a w/c system:confused:

If your only 7-8C over, you need to boost the core voltage and overclock more. ;)

mkosem 04-20-2002 11:14 PM

ya, for a 109W heat load I'm happy with 15C over ambient full load temps.

PetDMC 04-21-2002 05:49 PM

no problems at all, seems to be shielded well!

--Matt

mkosem 04-22-2002 02:22 PM

still going, 5 days strait so far!

--Matt

PetDMC 04-22-2002 02:49 PM

that's great news since that's the pump i'm gonna get

it's it 3 or 2 prong plug???

mkosem 04-23-2002 08:13 AM

it's 2 prong, and if you cut the wings off of it it fits perfectly through a slot hole in the back of the case.

I know that Eheim pumps are the popular favorite, but I tend to like powerheads like the one in this thread and Maxi-Jets due to their small size. Yea, I know that Rios are powerheads, but look at these quick powerhead reviews/descriptions:

http://saltaquarium.about.com/cs/prpowerheads/

Powerheads seem to be ideal for a small case due to their small size.

mkosem 04-25-2002 05:29 PM

7days and still kicking, my temps are now a little better. 13C over ambient full load and only 9C over Idle. these ghey intel cpu's don't seem to have much as far as idling.

--Matt

Brad 04-26-2002 03:50 AM

no noise differances after 7 days?

Powerheads are cool, but Danners are really powerful for their size too

mkosem 04-26-2002 12:50 PM

nope, still completely silent!

--Matt

mkosem 05-03-2002 12:00 AM

heh, 2 weeks later and not a single noise! damn I love this cheap pump!

jodynicH 05-03-2002 09:18 AM

i ordered mine, I hope im as lucky as you...

Crobe 05-03-2002 09:34 AM

hey I'm going to order that same pump, do you happen to have any dimensions on it? I'd like to know what the footprint of it is plus how far those barbs stick off of it.

Thanks

maskedgeek 05-03-2002 09:40 AM

i got my maxijet to shoot very high! i was leaktesting a block i made, and i just wanted to empty the water out of the contanier so i had a little hose(6in) and let her rip! it shot probably 2.5 feet!

webmedic 05-03-2002 10:03 AM

I'm using one to but I'm using the 130gph version. This is what I get with it.

this is not overclocked or anything the motherboard is an asus a7s333 and has no vcore settings so the overclocks are uninspireing but at least it reads the xp diode.

mkosem 05-03-2002 09:22 PM

it's about 5.5"L X 4.5"H including the barbs and 3.5"L X 3"H X 2"W for just the pump itself. it is basicaly silent, the only thing you have to worry about is dampening the vibration against your case which is easily solved by a piece of foam.

--Matt

mkosem 05-03-2002 09:23 PM

and I've since replaced that enermax adjustable fan on the rad with a panaflow M1a and that dropped my temps a bit more.

zoson 05-04-2002 04:50 PM

Since the pump is only two prong. It does not have a ground wire correct? So when hard wiring it to my psu switch, do I just not need to worry about grounding it?
