What a week... (Cpufx rant type thread)

Oh the fun just keeps on going don't it. Damn Murphys law, I'm gonna go and kick him...

First off, I clean up my case really well (cabling) and I am quite happy. My fan connection for my rad came loose, my water was at 50C before I caught it, and my proc got to almost 80C. Ok, so I saved it. My chip was still alive, whew. Then, I mess up my windows install while installing a patch. Ok, np, I Have all my data on a seperate partition. Go to reinstall Xp... my floppy is dead. Not only is the drive dead (np, i got it for $5) but the floppy controler is dead... not great, but I can live with that. My sound also seemed not to work, but I couldn't get the drivers re-installed (thats how i killed it). I used a second computerto format my windows partition. I was putting my hdd back in and I bashed my inline temp probe (see Cpufx). the seal came loose while I was installing Xp. It dropped two drops onto my vid card (still safe... I think) and I grabbed a pair of pants from the floor (glad I didn't clean up) and held it under until the entire install process was done (god, 60 minutes...).

I pulled the entire system apart and am re-sealing the thing with "silicone II" adhesive. Man, looking at some of the parts, it looks like the anodising is comming off. (pictures to come in a day or too)....

Question:
Why do bad things always happen all at once?
How do I clean out "Foggy" hoses? They are slightly white, along with the cap on my res.

Right now, my hoses are soaking in a clr nockoff, please let me know of any other solutions.

-WireX (feel bad for me, please, I really need it right now)

All I got to say about this, is it could always get worse.

I wish my problems were limited to hardware and software, but alas, they are not, its amazing how petty things seem when you are faced with loosing all the petty things.

Not trying to knock anything away from you, its sounds like you cought a gremlin. Way better then waht i am faced with.

all bad things happen at once, it's called life. As for the fdd controller, tough. You're lucky nothing important got fried.

Fix, your time of the month?

Thats pretty bad but I can top it I think. While attempting a voltage mod one of the arms broke off the hp103 something or another chip after I was done and the voltage mod was working. Following me having to buy another motherboard I broke the center lug off my socket mounting the water block. After coming up with a new clip design to use the 4 mounting holes I lost 2 40gig hd's. Then 3 months later I lost my cd-rom drive along with my cpu. It had been sitting untouched for 3 months until I grabbed a quick shower and came back to a black screen. The core had cracked! So buying a new cpu, I wasn't able to use it a 1.4, what it was rated at! Turns out the L1 bridges along with others had shorted out. I had to solder them back on, because a pencil wasn't enough to bridge the gap.

Just now am I getting things back together. I know how you feel though. When It rains it poors.

LOL Brad I guess it did kind of sound that way.

On your "foggy" hoses try running some isopropyl alcohol through them. Remember to flush with water afterwards. Usually works for me, but really depends on what is causing the foggign.
