That's a sweet concept. Heh, make it look like the real components are being fried, but they're not :D

Very nice.

Nice job! Not only is it unique, but it exemplifies good recycling ethics. :p Good indirection too, btw. I like the shock it must generate.

Do you get any humidity problems? Water tends to, err... migrate when you least prefer it.

that thing is friggin sweet!

i saw a box made out of a bunch of dead mobos, then a light inside it (not a computer, i saw this at a party). that looked pretty damn cool too

That does look pretty neat. Try some lighting on the wet side?

Furthermore, are all of the components on the wet side really dead, or are there some live ones that got sacrificed for the cause?

hmm... looks like something to do with my 18 working s3 virges ( i actually bought them for $5 for the whole lot a couple of years ago... oh and their the proper 4 meg versions not any of this crappy 2 meg ones :)

I have plans for lighting in the water feature yes, it's just getting the time to do it...

:D Well some of the components wern't completly dead, the mobo had a dead ps2 port, but otherwise booted ok, the ram is effectively useless, 2 x 32 meg sticks that between them manage to scrape up 16meg of useable ram, the videocard is an old matrox 4? 8? meg card and presumeably may still have been operational, the modem worked but had no drivers, the sound card still worked(no drivers again),the powersupply is out of an old amiga and god only knows what that ISA card did in it's previous life.

The cpu is an interesting amd/intel hybrid, the base is a socket 7 amd chip of some description, and the top is the core of a slot1 P3 450(epoxied on).

Proud to be a kiwi mate ;)

serious nice work there, I really like the water flowing over the epox board
