wow, lotta ppl making some intersting blocks lately. what kind of performance does it get? and what is the ID of your tubing??

webmedic 04-29-2002 10:11 PM

I could tell you but I'd have to kill you.

No really the tubing is 1/2 but the fittings are 5/8 on the whole thing I've actually got it set up with a case and resevore and actuall radiator with a shroud now. And I get:

case temp: 25c
cpu idle: 32c
cpu load: 34c

thats using toast prime 95 will give temps 2c cooler. This is on an athlon xp 1800. and the radiator I'm using now is a smaller one. The full size one like in the pics gives about 2c cooler.

lol, where did you get that brass 90 degree elbow? ive been looking for one (preferably 1/2" by 1/2") everywhere, and it has so far eluded me...
also, is it all one piece??

webmedic 04-29-2002 10:22 PM

Yes the brass is all one piece. That one is 5/8 all the way. I got it at a local hose shop called house of hose.

House of hose eh? Do the cops know of this place? :p

Brad 04-30-2002 05:35 AM

how exactly does the copper fit in there?

webmedic 04-30-2002 06:31 AM

I'll post some more pics in a while but I'll probably do an all copper one instead of doing any more inserts.

Some new pics are up. Sorry the close ups are not to great but should give an idea of what it looks like. The newer ones also show temp diodes mounted in the water block. This is so I can monitor inlet and outlet temps.

Sorry the link is the same:

it could take up to 30 minutes for them to show.

Marco 04-30-2002 09:08 AM

That's pretty interesting. How exactly did you make it? Looks like some kind of encased orb to me, is it that?

webmedic 04-30-2002 09:13 AM

No it's all machined from scratch. Thanks though hadn't even thought of it looking like a orb. At least it doesn't crush cpu's like an orb.

webmedic 04-30-2002 04:09 PM

just posted 4 more pics showing temps and 1 showing a larger radiator

webmedic 05-01-2002 04:31 PM

Just posted 1 more pic using athlon xp1900. Just for the record the athlon temps are using the xp diode on my asus board.
