Gf4 Pelt
Does anyone actually sell a coldplate for a gf4 waterblock, if not...what is everyone using for their gpu pelt setup?
|
I don't know of anything sold specifically, most people are just buying normal cpu blocks and modifying them to fit into the holes
|
get yourself a good pelt because mine 46W
(62W@12V) is barely enough. GF4 is voltagemodded 1.95V instead of 1.65V |
mmmmmmmm gf4 voltage mod......
|
mod is very simple 580Ohm resistor
no mod > 315 mod + original cooling > 340 mod + pelt 46W (62W@12V) 355 mod + pelt 86W(172W 24V@12V) 3?? memory 780 stock no mod >> fastest P4 2400 3DMARK :)) |
I have heard bad stories about the mod and the Gainward Ti4600 :(
|
No problem with my MSI.
Do not know if the rest uses the exact same reference design. You should avoid as much heating everything up with long contact between the soldering iron and the chip. If not you can damage the chip and/or the card. Nothing for newbies to try |
Just reading through icrontic....seems every card has no prob except the Gainward.

I would like to know too!

GPU:
Semtech SC1102 Pin 11 resisorX to ground pin 14 X = 0 > 1.65V original X = 1300O > 1.758V +8% X = 580O > 1.95V +18% X = 400O > 2,05V +24% mem voltage mod for Ti4400&Ti4600 not 4200!!! Semtech SC1175CSW (same as GF3) SAMSUNG BGA mem IO 2.8V and Working 2.8V (according to samsung data sheets) Pin 3 resistor Y1 to ground pin 20 Pin 18 resistor Y1 to ground pin 20 Y1 = ? O >> ??V Y2 = ? O >> ??V if some has some voltage/resistor reading on the mem please let me know  have fun |
I will be selling GF4 front and back cold plates and GF3 cold plates in about a week and 1/2 @ www.maximumoc.com
GF3 OC: 305/615 GF4 OC: (dunno, fried the thing before I got a chance to bench  ) GF4 cold plates price $55 GF3 cold plate price $45 These prices include 2-3 day shipping to anywhere in the US. Sysfailur:
HOw big of a pelt do you have on those pics? 80W? MOre? |

85w on the front of the GF3. |
And you dont have a problem with condensation building up on the GF3?
(Thinking about getting one of those blocks and putting on a slightly smaller pelt) |

Are your plates going to have a screwdown method or will we need to clamp?

Cold plates were initially developed because P3 cores would crack if a rapid temperature change occurred. That would slow down the process. However, that was just because of their FCPGA design. You don't need to use a cold plate if you don't want to. they will keep your temps from fluctuating as much, but they are not necessary.

Up to what wattage?
|
I liked the plate because it cools the GPU and the RAM at the same time. Dont need as muchb cooling on the RAM as you do on the GPU so that looks like a nice setup.
Now I just ahve to justify getting one of those plates..... :) |
Allroy - you can check my article on cooling the Kyro II w/ a pelt. I didn't use a cold plate there. I would actually reccommend making a second cold plate just for the RAM as it is very difficult to have that cold plate fit perfcectly. Keep in mind that if it is slightly off in measurements, it will not cool well as the contact will be poor.
