I Need Shielded Pump about 500GPH...

Hey guys,
I need a pump that runs cool in-line
(my last one got too hot and something melted inside and it fried)
and it's also has to be magneticly shielded because my comp is very close to my monitor.Any suggestions for 500gph

I was thinking:
Mag 5 (don't worry i'll take care of the leak)
Ehiem 1250 but it's damn expensive.(i heard they get hot too)

I'll stick to MAg5 if you don't find anything better
Just tell me from your personal experience if your pump affects the monitor and how close.

Thank you in advance.

The mags aren't shielded.

Damn i was afraid of thet!!!

So what do you suggest then?
Maybe some other pump maybe even submergable, i'll put it in small reservior even thought i have little space in my case.

The only ones that Iknow of that are shielded are the ehiems. If you have to have shielded get one otherwise all the others are more or less the same.

All others accept fo dc pumps. Don't get one it'll last about 2 months running 24/7 and then die on you.

any specific reason why you need a 500 GPH pump? really, if there's just one waterblock in the system, the 317GPH ehiem will work fine. also keep in mind that the more powerful the pump is, the more heat it will dump into the coolant.

eheim 1250 does not get hot, and it should be more flow than you need really. i had one with a waterblock and a chipset block, and the damn thing was flowing too hard for my Dubro reservoir, creating too much turbulence. took that out and put in a fill tube/hose.

the 1250 gets kind of warm, but definitely not hot. and mine runs 24/7, even with computer off.

Thanks alot guys
What if i get 1048 and then i would want to add another waterblock will it be still powerfull or should i buy 1250 for the future. who knows what's gonna happen in a year or two...what if computers will not be needing cooling anymore. OMG what terrible thought..:)

the 1250 will be fine for everything you can throw at it.

the 1048 will PROBABLY be fine for everything you throw at it. there is a point of diminishing returns. more is better, but don't stress over it TOO TOO much. i am selling my 1250, and grabbing a smaller pump.

I'm cooling an Athlon XP with a Rio pump right now. That thing is probably flowing 25gph after the highly restrictive Black Ice classic radiator. Actually, 25gph would be on the high side of my estimate. Anyways, it works just fine. Really, I don't think it will hurt anything if your flowing 200gph instead of 300gph..
I remember when I did the big move from 3/8" tubing to 1/2" tubing on TheRock. I did everything, high flowing Maze1C, heatercore instead of cooling cube, no elbows instead of 10. My flow rate went up about 400%, judging by the looks of things. I didn't even have to change the pump, just clearing up the restrictions did that. But ya know what, even with the 400% flow increase, and the theoretical higher cooling capacity of a heater core, my temps didn't drop one single degree.
Just my 2 cents on the issue. Good luck with your setup. :)

I run the mag700. I love it. It may be a little over the TOP but I plan to run 2 radiators soon. Also It makes filling my 200gal fishtank rather fast process.

BTW the more back presssure you have the warmer your pump gets. My 700 doesn't get warm until I scale down the tubing size. Same applies to any pump.

UnaClocker:

You should have tried using 2 rads, and run them in parallel. This would have decreased your flow resistance even further, and actually give you more cooling capacity.

Ive considered that setup, but I just don't see 2 heater cores in my case...
