Best Water cooling case
Well, this may not be in the correct forum, but I think it should be here.
Anyway, I'm sure many of you have spent a lot of time trying to figure out which case to buy to put your water cooling set up in. So start posting what which ones you guys think are the best. To start things off: Lite-On Mid Tower ATX Case Model FS-020 3 x 120 mm Fan spots! (same case used in the Q-Power) As for a cheaper case, Codegen 9001 The whole front is 'open' good for a big Rad (but may limit the CDROM/HD space) |
Antec style case. The mid size one. I think it's the file server case. I can fit lots of stuff in them and If I need more room I can get the full size one.
|
I agree with Webmedic u can get more than u think in these cases
and www.newegg.com has them for like 49.00 with no power supply heres a pic of what i got in mine http://www.dtccom.net/~spchrc/index_files/image007.jpg |
What size rad is that UpAllNight?
|
its the same one dangerden the heatcore one
but i bought mine from Napa for 25.00 bucks and soldered the barbs on...all u have to get is a chevy chevette rad any model |
So the 80mm fan whole on the Antec's in the front is good enough to put a radiator with a 120 mm fan on it?
|
naa, gotta cut a hole kinda like this one:

any decent full tower should do :D
|
i think a cube-case would be the easiest type off case for it
but if its easy, what the fun in it  |
I have a totally modded(paint and all)1030(1050 now:) ) but it's gone tomorrow. I traded a friend of mine for a cheap Foxcon case. Yeah yeah I know I'm downgrading but it's a huge case and I think I can upgrade my cooling setup alot more with it. I'm pretty proud of my Antec though the paint came out like a mirror it took me 2 weeks to do it. 7 layers total 2 primer 3 royal blue paint and 2 clear coat all wet sanded in between coats. I need to get a digicam so I can take pics:D

Yeong Yang Cube case, all the way !!!
|
I use the Chenbro 103 cube server case. One half fits all my watercooling gear(2 pumps, radiator, 2 reservoirs, waterchiller and 2 power supplies). Best move I ever made with watercooling. I have easy access to my motherboard and PCI cards and any leaks outside the waterblock are restricted to the other half of the case. If you have the room, a cube case is the way to go. You can get the Chenbro cube at Newegg shipped for $185 in black or white.
|
Another advantage to a cube case is the shielding. Any EMI from pumps is isolated to the non-motherboard side of the case.

mkosem-
Hey SuperMan, did you cut the front out of your Antec with those scissors in the picture. LOL! :D :D :D Just joking, but I think that is the way to do it; clear out all obstructions. Did you modify the plastic front bezel as well? Are you using the Chevette heater core also? Thanx Jim |
mkosem: that the Dtek rad?
|
I dunno if any of you guys have seen any of these new antec cases but they look pretty nice. They look like the old ones just improved upon with more fans and ports in the front. http://www.antec-inc.com/en_plus1060.html You can buy them over at http://www.tccomputers.com/cgi-bin/b.../idx/cases.htm

I like this case, it's nice and wide, and has 80mm fan spots over the pci slots. It can easily handle a heatercore at the bottom front, look at all the room down there. and due to the width it wouldn't be hard to have a pump beside the pci cards. |
if youre willing to spend the extra money, lian li cases are great. ive had two (originally pc60 and now pc70) and the quality of construction on them is like nothing ive seen before. consider too that youre making a watercooling rig which adds a ton of weight and if youre planning on going to lan parties at all, you cant beat an aluminum case.
