Wiring a pump to a PS?
 

I really want to wire my pump into my PS, but frankly I have no idea how. I'm new to H2O cooling, but I catch on fast. If anyone could do a step by step, or a diagram(which would be best), I would be appreaciative. I have an inline pump and a enermax PS, 550w.

I didn't take that rout I actualy cut an old plug from a power supply and mounted it above my ps . I have a seperate plug for it and it was done in 20min. the reason I didn't wire into my ps was I was affraid that if one or the other shorted/burnt up it would brown out the other since they were hardwired together. but I thing overclockers.comn has the article you are looking for.

One good idea is to mount a 12v relay, fed by PSU 12v and wired to PSU external plug. It's small and it can fit into the PSU itself. Then take a good 230v (or 110v) cable, drill a hole on a side and wire a standard block of female plugs outside your PSU. Now you can plug any device, including a toaster or 230v fans :)

Which 12V leads can I use for the relay? Can I use the 2 wires for the fan in the PS? Don't wanna goto the trouble of soldering those thick wires.

I took the simple approach to pump wiring. I cut off the pumps plug, and soldered the black and white wires to the corresponding ones that go to the power supply circuit board, and connected the green one to the psu case. This way, the pump is always running when the power supply is switched on.

This wasn't my idea though... Props to Joe, for showing the way to do this in the first Pro/Mini article.
