Black Ice, BI Pro, BIX....?
 

I am interested in getting one of these radiators (Mostly for its small size, as I haven't seen any heatercores with the same dimensions and this is going inside my case), yet I have only seen a couple reviews of the Black Ice (nothing on the Pro or Xtreme). Besides the few numbers I've read (probably from the manufacturer), I believe the Pro is 35% better than the BI, and the Xtreme is 100% better than the BI.

My question is this: If your just cooling a CPU, NB, and GPU, is the BIX really necessary, or will a Pro do the job? I'm not sure, but it looks like the BIX is for Peltier and Dual CPU setups (I could be wrong though).

they will both do the job, but the BIX would probably do it better (resulting in lower temps).

I have the BIX and it works great. I get idle temps of 34C and load temps of 38C (as measured by DD5 flat probe trimmed/dipped in AS3, slightly touching side of CPU core).

CPU - AMD XP 2000+ (Green AGOIA Y Core) @ 1725Mhz and 1.8Vcore. Ambient - 23 C

I run a BI pro and am already thinking of stepping up to a heater core of some sort. I'm not real happy with my temps at all but I just bought a vid and northbridge block so we'll see what my temps are after I install them.

depends on the cpu and general heat load. A BI prime will handle just about everything you could throw at it. But if you're after a really quiet computer, you could run a BIX and a quieter fan than you could on the BI prime
