More Mhz's out of my P4?
I have a Northwood Pentium 4 1.8 running @ 2.65
Now, seriously... maybe I'll be able to keep the load temps down but they're not too bad with my big ass Alpha HSF. I'm thinking unless I go with a pelt (which scares me) -- there isnt much more I can get out of this baby. Maybe I should save my uninstalled water setup for my soon to be finished Athlon XP setup...? Any ideas? |
I doubt you'd get much more, unless you cooled below ambient, or increased the voltage, thats quite a good overclock for a 1.8a

What sort of temp's are you getting (related to ambient)? My 1.8@2.57 is almost 10 degrees (c) lower under load with water cooling than with good (large all copper) air cooling.
With an ambient of 24c and air cooling it idles at 38c and load is 48c With a coolant temp of 24c and water cooling it idles at 35c and load is 39c when I iced the water down to below 20c it was stable at 2.61,(windows wouldn't post at 2.67) as soon as the coolant rose to 23-24 it became un-stable. just my experience... |
*ARGH* screaming in agony! Why did i ever order that willamette cpu :((
