I didn't measure. I just guesstamated my water to water wetter ratio. Webmedic suggested I get Hyper lube super coolant so I did and it looks and smells a whole better than the water wetter.

super-coolant and water weter will give the same temps also.
I just tried 40% methane/60% watter and my top temps were 1c warmer but the methane will let me goto -20f whithout freezing. So there are trade offs but you get increased usability.

i'm assuming you mean methanol or ethanol correct? seeing as how methane is a gas....
if so -- any worries about using (m)ethanol and it damaging my Eheim..?

Yes I ment methanol. It's been runing for a few days straight and no problems yet. there is a thread arround here by rockstarbob talking about using methanol as an anti-freeze andthat it outperforms averything else for that use.
Read here as don't ever use the stuff called anti-freeze. It's like sludge in your system.

still.. i gotta question what methanol will do to my Eheim... much less the fact that methanol is flammable..
i can picture it now.. my computer destroyed because of a leak.. not from water damage, but from a giant fire ball

It would be just like when a computer crashes or has any sort of problem in a movie... "Hey, there's something wrong with the computer! KABOOOOM!" ;)

Methonal is extremely flammable. My son races Go-karts and this is what we use for fuel. This is also what Indy cars use. Not somthing you want to expose to electricity. It also evaporates very quickly. Methonal and alcohol are basicly the same thing. It will also attack plastic and rubber and disintegrate it.

Thanks for that info but it is 60% water in the mix. The stuff I'm using is used for windsield washer so I'm pretty sure that it won't eat my plastic as it's made to sit in a plastic windshield washer resevore.

Probably won't hurt the plastic but still very flammable.

oh.. so you're using window wiper fluid.. ah ok.. makes things alot simpler...
i dont believe the "blue stuff" is flammable.. the 40% H20 does a good job preventing that.
now are you using an extreme pelt or something? going below freezing?

No I just test most things I can get my hands onto. So I decided to test it and see how it affects cooling. I'm looking at something that is the next step beyond pelts butthat may not be ready any time soon. It's like a pelt but much more efficient.
