Eheim 1048 or 1250
Simple question...
Normally, or atleast a few days ago I would have said 1250 in a second. But after reading about a thousand posts and articles.. I'm not so sure is the Eheim 1048 sufficient for cooling a cpu. is the Eheim 1250's 320GPH too much flow? Only thing I am worried about is using a little gas tank RES with the 1250.. |
The answer: it depends what you're cooling, and what other parts you're using.

well I have a Maze3 + BI Extreme + Eheim 1250 + Gastank RES
Now I still have my receipt for the Eheim so it would be no problem to exchange it for the 1048 if need be. |
(A pic would be nice!)
That'll work just fine. If you suspect that you might get better performance from a lower flow rate, then just try clamping your tube (a little bit, not a lot) to limit the flow, and see what happens (1-2 hours later). Let us know! |
will have pics soon

Hey Ben, you suggest clamping the tube if you want to lower the flow rate a bit. Any suggestions as to where or doesn't it matter?

Sweet, thanks man. I'm going to try that and see if it proves here that the 1250 is overkill =)
I wanted to get something that'll give me enough breathing room if I decide to add a GF4 block |
