Air in coolant...and still the same temp???
Here is an interesting situation that I "stumbled" upon....
My system runs 24/7 and my pump is pluged directly into the wall so it always runs. However eariler this afternoon, I was messing around with the rats nest of wires behind my desk trying to get a cord out. After getting frustrated for a few seconds and a bit of yanking :) I got my cord out. I also discovered that in the process, I unpluged my pump and my system was still chuggin away. OPPS! Noticed that some nice little bubbles were starting to form in my res., not a good sign :) I quickly plugged my pump back in and everything was fine. Immediately checked my temps and it had only risen 1C. Here is what is really intresting. Since the pump got unplugged my res has a nice mixture of air and water (nice tiny white bubbles ) and yet my temps have not risen one bit! Heh... It actally has stabilized at my best overal heat disappation level of 6C over ambient! Current temps: Ambient Case temp: 35C (closed case, all components inside) Core Temp: 41C My usual delta between my case temps and my core temps is 6-7C but usually staying around the 7C delta mark.
