temp rise

Going from a idle state to full CPU load, should my liquid cooled CPU temp rise slowly or should I expect an immediate temp increase? I'm thinking that the fast temp increase is due to an inefficent waterblock. Idle temps of 32c rising instantly to 45c under load.
I've never noticed this type of temp increase on my other watercooled machine using a OCH Z4 waterblock.

The system I'm wondering about uses a simple, homemade aluminum waterblock / Supreme magdrive 350gph / 7/16th hose /
custom radiator 6 pass/ 3 x 50mm fans.
MSI K7T Turbo Athlon 1.4 @ 1628 148x11 1.9v

Other system=
MSI K7T 266 Pro 2 XP 1700 @ default( piss poor overclocker)
Supreme 350 / OCH Z4 block/ 2 pass rad with 2 x 80mm fans

Sounds a little bit like your wb isnt totally mounted properly. Try remounting it possibly.

Well, I remounted the wb last night and killed my Athlon. No ,it didn't burn or crack....just wouldn't post. RMA 'd to AMD and picked up a 1.1 Duron to keep me entertained. Tried it on air and all is well, will put the wb on right now and check temps.

they should go up very quickly if you are using the internal diode, 45C does seem too high though
