12volt Water pump goodness
This is the best 12volt pump I have gotten my hands on in the last couple of months since I start water cooling. My current system uses a rule live well pump that is loud and adds heat to the water. I got this one from ITT Jabsco today here are the specs.
12volt Magnetic drive coupling 15 lpm / 3 gpm @ 1.2 meters/4 foot head 4 gmp @ 1.7 psi pumps water at 100 C / 210 F Current draw 1.2amps full load Continuously rated Dim 5 1/2in X 2 1/2in (This thing is small enough to fit in the palm of my hand. Wish my camara was working so I can show you a pic of it in my hand.) I pluged it into a power supply and it didn't make a sound while running in my hand. looks like a nice pump, and it is actually continuously rated. The gph is a little low though, you might need two

Hmm.. I wouldn't worry about flow rate with that pump (240gph?) because the pressure drop for this one seems to be pretty slim. Post some numbers when you get a chance :)

It's installed, after two trips to Lowes for fittings, 4x4x2 marine box, and hardware.
Temps after 30 mins with the covers still off. Room 34/35 Cpu 32/33 I had to complete redo my whole water system to get it to fit. I will post pics tomarrow. |
the CPU temp cant be lower than the room temp (unless youre using a pelt or something, or very cold water). your measurements must be off, or you got them mixed up lol.

Yes, they can when the case temp sensor is soldered on the board next to the northbridge. So the case temp is not correct anyway. My room temp is around 25C. But I can't complain to much as I won this motherboard from AMD. I would like to get a better motherboard, but with Hammer comming and Amd talking about changing the socket it just wouldn't be worth it right now.

I found it here, but no specs: http://www.jabsco.com/util.asp And on second thought... 3gpm @4 ft head isn't bad... could be run dually... I went over to the Jabsco website, and requested more info (the spec sheet isn't available). Maybe if we could get a performance chart... So how much does it cost? what's the fitting size? We'll find out... |

It's rated for continuous duty, so it SHOULD be as good as anything else.

I've seen it on the web for $95.00 . (Am I going to spend that much? Hell no!)

I got the specs for the pump above, including the performance curve. (let me know if I should post it).
In short, it'll do 4 GPM(240gph) @ 1.74 psi (4 feet), but can only handle 1 psi (2.3 feet) at 5 gpm(300gph). It will however handle 2.80 psi (6 ft) at 1.32 gpm (80gph). It cannot handle more than 2.90 psi (6 feet 8 inches). I think it's a little underpowered. Connections are 3/4" ID. 5V@ 1.2A = 6 Watts (definitely underpowered). It could be run in a dually, but there would have to be something to prevent the two outputs from leaking into each other (a flap valve?). |

powerful. they look pretty bulky tho...plus they arent mag-drive pumps. need bigger pics or dimensions of the things to be sure tho...

They might not be mag drive, but as long as they perform, and they're quiet, who cares?

true. but a seal / bearing is just something that'll eventually wear out and need to be replaced. :shrug:

Also true, but being rated to 50psi, I don't think I'd worry about it. That carbon bearing is often used in high pressure aps.
I don't know, maybe I'm wrong. I can't find the price anywhere. I requested it, but I haven't received it yet. |
