unablock anyone?
I'm planning on getting a pair of these for my dual duron system thst's in the works. anyone know how they work?

Liquid goes through the block, and removes heat from the block, and continues on it's marry way...
Or did you mean how WELL does it work? :p No clue  |
duh webmasta, I've been WC'ing for a while now.......
Anyone know how WELL it works? --Matt |
This may not help you, but I have a unablock+ViaAqua1300 +Escort heatercore combo leak testing on the bench, should be in the computer by Monday. I can give you some feedback on its performance with a 1Ghz(266) AXIA.
|
EXCELLENT! This is great news. Keep me posted.....

mkosem, well obviously, just ask UnaClocker (duh?)... but from what I hear, at medium to low flow rates (Via Aqua 1300... Rio 180) the block performs surprisingly well...
On the other hand, which I hope you notice, dual athlon boards dont have the 4 hole mounting, which the unablock uses. |
some dual AMD MoBos have the holes.
another thing to be aware of is galvanic corrosoin due to the copper & aluminum (wont be a prob if you use an aluminum rad or some corrosion inhibitors...) |
the a7m266-d does, they just need to be drilled out. Anyways, there's other mounting options anyways.

The new Iwill MPX comes with holes stock. It also has multiplier and FSB support (though prerelease boards seem to have some trouble with it).
|
hmm, anyways, I decided to run a single XP system instead of a dual duron box. But keep me posted for when I do make it.

I have had the MPX2 for 2 weeks now, I'm using a bios that iwill sent me, lets just say fsb + multi works just fine

I'm replying to mkosem's request for info about the Unablock. The system specs are:
1GHz(266) Tbird Axia @ 1.75v Epox 8kta3 motherboard Unablock(lapped to a mirror finish) Aqua Via 1300 Ford Escort heatercore 1/2" tubing except for inlet to the waterblock 120mm Panflo 1LA pulling air through the heatercore 1 80mm PC Power & Cooling Silencer in powersupply open slots between pci cards The entire system is inside a 16"x16"x7" mid-tower case The results: 1GHz(7.5 x 133) Ambient temp 25C , cpu(idle) 34C , cpu(load) 37C 1.33GHz(10 x 133) @ 1.85v Ambient temp 25C , cpu(idle) 37C, cpu(load) 40C The cpu temp was taken off the mboard sensor, this is my first attempt at watercooling and the data is not exact, but I thought it might give someone a rough idea how the Unablock performs. Sorry for the long post but a certain amout of info is needed to describe the test conditions. Any comments good or bad is most welcome. Gary |
