Wattercooling G4 4400
Hi.
Are the RAM and GPU chipset at the same hights? I plan to attach a cobber plate to the chips, and place the watter-block on the plate, so I watter-cool everything, as another persone did on a G3. |
To my knowledge, they are not.
I know that Sysfailur has designed a copper plate that does correctly fit on both the GPU and the RAM sinks so he can pelt chill all of them. Check out the thread: http://forums.procooling.com/vbb/sho...&threadid=3083 Even if you are not pelt chilling, the thread will still be useful. |
they aren't, you'll need a professional to measure and make the base of the block for you, the clearances are just too small
|
Seems like you could put small pelts (seen 'em 1 sq. cm) under a water block that would cover both. Something like this.
|
you'll need some very precise copper spacers to put on top of the RAM chips to fill the gap between the top of the GPU and the top of the RAM chips (since they arent even). only then could you use a heatspeader / pelt / waterblock to cool them all. HOWEVER, the BGA RAM those cards use probably doesnt get very hot at all, so cooling them in that manner is a moot point. play your fav game for an hour, the touch the BGA chips on the card to see how how they are. if they are only warm, you could just use some RAMsinks.
