Over At Liquid Cool

Hey Guys~n~Gals
Does anyone know the performance of these rads?

Leviathan
http://liquidcool.org/main.php?zone=...p=158&item=160

and

Monolith
http://liquidcool.org/main.php?zone=...p=158&item=163

the Monolith looks just like the big momma but nicer, the Leviathan looks similar but 2x as long, does anyone have specs or exp with these badboys? how many watts/btu do they remove? ultimatly, can they handle 3 172w tecs in a chiller?null

LiquidCool 09-10-2001 12:37 PM

Everybody is just now getting the first units. There should be a review in the next week or two at the anandtech forums. That is the only one I know about.

I'm considering sending Joe some to test out. If I do it will be in the next day or two...

I won't say anything more because I don't wanna piss of Joe(for me whoring)...

XOD 09-10-2001 12:40 PM

cool enough, I hope they are good because I have alot of heat to remove :D

LiquidCool 09-10-2001 03:53 PM

MMMFFF MMMFFFF <-- not allowed to talk :)

redleader 09-10-2001 11:53 PM

Wow those compression fittings are pretty sweet. I'm probably going to mod my DTek to use them eventually, but having them stock would have been very nice.

sunblade 09-12-2001 10:10 PM

w00t, mounting brackets! I think I'll purchase this radiator over the Dtek cooler core for just that reason, unless Dtek adds mounts on theirs, then I'll just be confused, lol. Kudos!

[edit] Hmm, I just noticed the push on connectors. Do you just push the hose in and it's locked in place? Pretty snazzy. LiquidCool.org seems to have some fresh ideas, which is always good. And again, I love the mounting brackets, lol! [/edit]

LiquidCool 09-12-2001 10:59 PM

Yes. All you have to do is push in the tubing and it locks into place. There are small stainless steel teeth inside that grip the tubing. Then you press this small collet on the fitting and it will release the tubing...

Here is an article I wrote on them...

How to Use Push-In Fittings

sunblade 09-13-2001 05:20 PM

Sorry, another question. Since the Monolith is the same as the Dtek CoolerCore and the BigMomma, it's copper right? I'm just making sure.

LiquidCool 09-13-2001 07:51 PM

yeah, both of them are copper. Tanks are brass, which the others should be too.

Butcher 09-13-2001 08:23 PM

WOW!
Do you ship internationally? :)

As for heat, the big mamma can handle 860W (iirc) so these should handle at least that.

LiquidCool 09-13-2001 11:13 PM

Yeah I can. Email me at michael@liquidcool.org or ICQ #95735580 If you have any questions. I dont want to talk about it on here. I dont wanna get banned :)

Butcher 09-14-2001 09:07 PM

ok will do once I get the billing address on my cc sorted (moving about a lot atm).

Jonas 09-16-2001 09:05 AM

hey i was looking at your compression fittings, and they look sweet and all but why no 1/2" id? it looks like you have to use 3/8" to use them...naychance of getting in ones that will work in a 1/2" system?

Jonas 09-16-2001 09:10 AM

lol i am the uber-luker...member #130 and only 3 posts! "they only come out at night, they only come out at night...the days are just too briiiight..."

LiquidCool 09-16-2001 05:04 PM

Well, It's mostly because they dont make and 1/2"ID stuff :( However, with the right system, you can get the same amount of flow with 3/8" tubing as you can with the 1/2" tubing. Since there is no barb on the inside of the tubing you get unrestricted flow...

Butcher 09-16-2001 06:18 PM

They're 3/8" ID? I thought the site said 1/2"... damn I have 1/2" tubing :(

LiquidCool 09-17-2001 02:41 AM

These fittings are measured by the outer diameter (OD) so on the site it will say 1/2"OD which is normally the same as 3/8"ID.

Kevin 09-17-2001 02:52 AM

I have a feeling that those will perform excellently. Most heatercores do.

Butcher 09-17-2001 09:01 AM

Um are you sure about that 3/8" ID? cos on the site it says "Leviathan Radiator - 1/2ID Barb Connections" which is quite clearly not 3/8".

xy 09-17-2001 02:28 PM

so does this mean that the 1/2" OD compression fittings will take 3/8" tubes and the 3/8" OD compression fittings will only take 1/4" tubes?

LiquidCool 09-17-2001 07:04 PM

Butcher:

There are three version of that radiator. 1/2"ID Barb, 3/8"ID Barb, and 1/2"OD Push-in.

xy:

Yep, you are correct.

Butcher 09-17-2001 08:26 PM

Ahh that's cool then, I'll just get the 1/2" ID barb fittings, easier than getting the 1/2" OD and a reducer and no flow penalty as the rest of my gear is 1/2" ID barb :P

joeyd 10-11-2001 09:17 PM

any reviews on these yet .... i really want a good 1/2id rad but i don't want to bust my wallet... right now i have a dual radiator by aqual cool i think (got it from a friend while he upgraded.)

WaterPog 10-12-2001 11:34 AM

I have a Leviathan, no pics sorry, and it is performing great!!

I got the 1/2" barb setup, and am using 1/2" tubing throughout. My setup is a T-bird 1.4G @ 1.6G running at 1.8V (1.9 in MBM). I have 2 120mm Delta fans, each rated at 130CFM @ 12V. It idles at ~30C @ 5V, and at full load using Toast it is arround 43C if I have the fans on 5V and about 38C if the fans are on 12V.

I have not doubts that it could be better, but I have no reason to really. I also have no ducting at all on the fans at this time, they are just mounted about 1" away from the radiator but the sides are open so there is alot of blow-by.

LiquidCool 10-12-2001 07:54 PM

I am glad your satisfied :)
