PCI/AGP Speeds???
OK...I'm wondering, first of all, if there is a program that can accurately read current PCI and AGP bus rates. I've currently got my XP1600+ @ 1754MHz (166x10.5). I'm wanting to see if I can go higher on the FSB (without unlocking the CPU - that's coming later :D), and I'm a little concerned about these bus speeds. Right now, Fuzzy Logic 3 says that my PCI is @ 41MHz, and the AGP is at 83MHz. Basically I want a second opinion. It seems that @ 166MHz FSB, there should be some type of divisor to cut these back down to normal speeds. Maybe it's just not supported by my BIOS/mobo, but that's part of what I'm investigating. All of the specs are in the sig.

Your reading the PCI/AGP speeds correctly.
To my knowledge, the only MB that supports a 1/5 divisor is the Epox boards. Other than those (or another MB that does that) you are stuck with very high AGP/PCI speeds. HOw did you get your GF3 to accept such a high AGP speed? Mine starts craping out after 150bus. BIOS tweaks? |
Abit's kt333 boards have it to, so do several other kt333 boards. I don't know about the msi - I try to keep away from them
