power problem... annoying!

Not much of a cooling-related problem, but anyway... You know how when you choose "shut down the computer" it shuts down then turns the power off itself? Well, my computer does that, and then it turns right back on, I can of course manually turn it off after that, but it's just a minor annoyance. Is it a psu or mobo problem, or did i just plug one of the switches into the wrong place?

You know mine started doing that last week and I really didn't think much of it, I figured it was a windows problem, could be fixed at a later time, then I flashed my BIOS just to update it and the problem went away. Go figure could have been a corrupted BIOS, who knows

often a little tick box in msconfig will solve this problem.

run msconfig, and click on the general tab. click on advanced and check the fast shutdown option.

Yeah see thats what I figured it was. I've run into this problem more than once before (seems to be a general problem with 98). I thought it strange that my flashing the BIOS solved the problem but hey it's fixed:D
