The pump is a Velocity Titanium (Model T3). The pump is designed for high back flow applications. The rotor and separating wall are titanium. The draw is only 1.2 amps. Can be used continuously and is suitable for pumping mildly corrosive chemicals (not that we would ever do that!).
The pump is rated at almost 1000 gph at 0' and an incredible 240 gph at 24'. A testament to it's ability to handle high back flow situations. A significant feature for me is that the pump operates at 30 db and has a 7"X4.5"X5" footprint. |
how much did that set ya back?

The pump setup including fittings and valves cost approximately $250.00. I know that this is a number that is beyond most people in terms of water cooling equipment, but I have been lucky and blessed in that I can indulge in this hobby and not miss too many meals.
My goal with this project is to build over the course of the next 3 months or so a very efficient and high end system that is equally appealling in an aesthetic sense. Thanks for your kindness. |

OH MY GOD thats one SWEET pump. I've had my eyes on that one for a long time now to replace my dinky 60GPH Home depot pump, but the price blew me away everytime i think about it. Is that pump fan cooled? Post some temps asap (even just by running it in a loop to check water heatup) Now I just have to figure out a way to *accidently kill my pump so i have to get a new one :D

I plan on doing exactly what you said, but I do not have all the components I need in order to test the water cooling subsystem. Expecting some more stuff this week. I am almost as anxious as you are to perform these tests ;). |
BTW Sanjuro, the pump is not fan cooled. It does dissipate 140 Watts. I am betting that the radiator i will be using will be more than adequate in handling this load.

Yeah, especially those ball valves.
I want to use some like that with Acrylic tubing since it is even clearer than clear pvc. |

Hi Melt,
The ball valves were purchased from U.S. plastics. They have a nice selection there. The valves are actually pretty ugly as far as color is concerned (grey body and orange valve). I attached a picture of me painting the valves in a solid black color: |
