Screaming 38 cfm's

I've had it with the freakin noise... I want cooling but Damn!. This Sat. AM I was lookin for cotton for my ears when I remember reading something about dropping the voltage to +7vdc.. Huh? Doh! It is really quite simple, You have to use one of those PS/4 to 3 pin fan adapters remove the ground from the 12 volt fan and move it to the +5v side. BAM ! 7 volts and it's quiet... I have a PAL6035 with the 38cfm fan... The temp is in the hi 30's, at the time 37.5 and I can live with that. I want to make a switching unit that I can go from 7v to say 10v to 12v for those times when it's damn the noise we want cool.. remember do not plug this adapter into any other periphreal...

Yeah... but it would have been better to just get a 33 cfm fan than move the thing down to 7v... You are now getting about 20 CFM... Might wanna check out the YS Tech 27 CFM fan.
